About & Methodology

PeakHealth Protocols is an evidence-based reference for health-optimization questions: sleep, light, cold and heat, supplements, exercise and cognition. This page explains where our content comes from and how we check it.

What this site is

We organize the best available evidence on practical health protocols into pages that answer one question each. Every page leads with a direct two-to-three sentence answer, then explains the mechanism, the protocol or dosing, and what the research actually shows — with links to the primary sources.

We are a topic site, not a fan site. Popular podcasts and long-form interviews with researchers and clinicians (for example Andrew Huberman, Peter Attia or Rhonda Patrick) are one input among several; no single expert is the identity or the final word of this site.

How content is sourced

  1. Seed. A page usually starts from an expert conversation that makes a specific, practical claim — a dose, a timing window, a mechanism.
  2. Primary research. We trace that claim back to the papers it rests on and read them, prioritizing human trials, meta-analyses and systematic reviews over animal or in-vitro work.
  3. Corroboration. We look for agreement (or disagreement) among other credible experts and the wider literature, and we say plainly when evidence is preliminary, mixed or absent.
  4. Citation. Every page ends with a source list labelling each item as a paper, episode, book or other source, so you can check our work.

How content is reviewed

Drafts are written with the help of AI tools and then go through a review gate before publication: quotes are verified against the original source, numbers (doses, durations, effect sizes) are checked against the cited paper, and every claim must be traceable to a listed source. Changes to the site are made through a version-controlled review process, so every edit has a history.

Pages marked “Sample content — not yet reviewed” are placeholders that demonstrate the format. They have not passed this review and should not be relied on.

Each page shows a last updated date. When new research changes the picture, we update the page and its date.

Affiliate policy

Some pages — mostly product comparisons — contain affiliate links. If you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Pages with affiliate links carry a disclosure at the bottom.

  • Recommendations follow the evidence; we never accept payment for placement or for a positive review.
  • Where the evidence says a product is unnecessary, we say so — even if that means no commission.
  • Affiliate relationships never influence our protocol or research pages.

Not medical advice

Everything on PeakHealth Protocols is for general education. It is not medical advice and does not replace a diagnosis or treatment plan from a qualified clinician who knows your history. Supplements and protocols that are safe for most people can be unsafe for some — including during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with certain medications, or with conditions such as heart disease. Talk to your doctor before making changes, and seek urgent care for any medical emergency.

Corrections

If you find an error, a broken source link or a claim that doesn't match its citation, we want to know. We correct mistakes promptly and update the page's last-updated date.
